Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speechwriter. She founded Feminist Frequency which is a website with videos and guest posts discussing the depictions of females in popular media. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic who has been awarded accolades for her work. She is an activist blogger. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit educational website which examines female representations in the popular media narratives. Committed to destroying the stereotypes related to women in popular culture, she has also been working on issues related the targeted harassment women and others on the internet. Sarkeesian is a graduate in the fields of social thought and political science at York University. She is also an internationally acclaimed public presenter. Sarkeesian gave speeches to the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. While a student at university, Sarkeesian became concerned about issues related to gender identity and women's rights in the early stages. The ambitious lady planned to start an internet-based series that examined the role of gender in games however, she was also the subject of an online campaign to harass her. Her determination was not slowed from the attack, and in fact it only reinforced her desire to become a media critic and feminist. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards for her numerous significant contributions to the world of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian, a media critic who has won many awards, and also founded Feminist Frequency as an educational nonprofit that studies the ways women are depicted within the popular culture stories.
